As with almost any business role - looking at you MBAs - there is always an expectation that people will focus on a certain domain (or industry, if you prefer). The general idea of business hasn't removed "business" people from their posts, and the general idea of "data" won't flop because they don't all have the same domain. That would be weird.

Thing is, I think there is a valid argument to be had about a large change coming to the data science industry, but this article is so surface level that anyone slightly familiar with the field could have wrote it; I want some depth to these arguments. The main intent of this is click bait fodder for the thirsty AI/ML facade. Congratulations on that front.
